Hennepin County Negotiations: Zeros No More!

750 Hennepin County workers rallied for a fair contract at the Government Center on Monday.

Their “No more zeros!” chant caused ripples in the fountain as bosses looked down from 24 floors.

“We got zero in ’03 and zero in ’04 – we’ll take zeros no more!” said Clifford Poehler,

a Hennepin County public defender and treasurer of AFSCME Council 5.

When asked “What will we do without a fair contract?” the crowd responded with “Strike!”
